  Friday, April 28, 2023 -  The following species will reopen to recreational harvest May 1 in Florida state and federal waters of the Atlantic: red porgy; hogfish; blueline tilefish; gag, black, red, yellowmouth and yellowfin grouper; scamp; red hind; rock hind; coney; and graysby.

  Wednesday, April 12, 2023 -  The FWC and RBFF will support five organizations that help Florida’s Hispanic youth learn about conservation, fishing practices and fishing gear to create confident and responsible anglers.

• FWC to conduct restoration project at Saint Andrew Bay

  Tuesday, April 11, 2023 -  This project will restore seagrass habitat lost due to a vessel grounding event. FWC staff will first restore the grounding area to natural sediment grade followed by transplanting native seagrass.

• Bay scallop season extended to 37 days in Pasco County

  Wednesday, April 5, 2023 -  The recreational bay scallop season for this area opens July 1 and closes Aug. 6, allowing harvest to begin during the weekend in advance of the Fourth of July holiday.
