Discover and Explore

The diverse wildlife management area (WMA) network caters to a broad spectrum of recreationists who appreciate variety and solitude. Trails open to hiking, bicycling or horseback riding meander past sinkholes and creeks, through shaded hammocks and forested wetlands, or across well-burned pinelands and open prairie. Some trails navigate the remains of historic logging trams and settlements; others lead to modern viewing platforms and scenic overlooks.  Some WMA trail systems even connect with the Florida National Scenic Trail and offer primitive camping spots for through-hikers.
