Temporary closure of Pasco Zone for 2026 regional bay scallop season
Thursday, August 6, 2026 - FWC announced a temporary closure of recreational bay scallop harvest in the Pasco Zone. This area includes all state waters south of the Hernando-Pasco county line and north of the Anclote Key Lighthouse in northern Pinellas County, encompassing the Anclote River. -

Friday, July 10, 2026 - The 2026 recreational bay scallop season in Pasco County opens July 10 and will remain open through Aug 18. -
Bay scallop season opens July 1 in Franklin – NW Taylor County region and Levy, Citrus and Hernando counties
Wednesday, July 1, 2026 - The 2026 recreational bay scallop season from Franklin County through northwestern Taylor County (including Carrabelle, Lanark and St. Marks) as well as portions of Levy County and all of Citrus and Hernando counties (including Cedar Key, Crystal River and Homosassa) opens July 1 and will remain open through Sept. 24.
