  Wednesday, April 26, 2023 -  The winners from all grades will have their artwork displayed in the 2023-24 Freshwater and Saltwater Fishing Regulations booklets.

  Tuesday, April 25, 2023 -  The FWC will meet in person May 10-11 at the Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon, 5101 Blue Lagoon Drive, Miami, FL 33126. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. ET each day and is open to the public.

  Wednesday, April 19, 2023 -  The FWC will treat 32 acres of invasive hydrilla in the Alachua County lake along the northeastern shoreline where it is encroaching on beneficial native submersed aquatic plants and could impact access to navigation.

  Wednesday, April 12, 2023 -  The FWC and RBFF will support five organizations that help Florida’s Hispanic youth learn about conservation, fishing practices and fishing gear to create confident and responsible anglers.

• FWC to conduct restoration project at Saint Andrew Bay

  Tuesday, April 11, 2023 -  This project will restore seagrass habitat lost due to a vessel grounding event. FWC staff will first restore the grounding area to natural sediment grade followed by transplanting native seagrass.

• Bay scallop season extended to 37 days in Pasco County

  Wednesday, April 5, 2023 -  The recreational bay scallop season for this area opens July 1 and closes Aug. 6, allowing harvest to begin during the weekend in advance of the Fourth of July holiday.

• Give released reef fish a better chance: FWC, American Sportfishing Association, Coastal Conservation Association Florida remind anglers to carry barotrauma mitigation tools to help conserve reef fish

  Wednesday, March 29, 2023 -  Starting April 1, anglers fishing from a vessel targeting reef fish will be required to have on board a descending device or venting tool that is rigged and ready for use to help conserve reef fish in state waters.

  Tuesday, March 28, 2023 -  This outdoor event is free, open to the public and will feature family-friendly activities, art, diving and marine conservation booths, live music, fillet demonstrations, and the world’s largest lionfish tournament, the Emerald Coast Open.

  Tuesday, March 28, 2023 -  The FWC recently approved recreational management changes for red porgy and several other reef fish to be consistent with recent federal changes.
