• FWC seeks public feedback on proposed rule changes for green iguanas 

  Tuesday, September 2, 2025 -  The proposed changes to Chapter 68-5, Florida Administrative Code will be discussed at the virtual public meetings, including alternative considerations for outdoor caging and biosecurity for live, wild-caught green iguanas possessed for sales, as well as live green iguanas possessed for exhibition and research.

  Monday, June 23, 2025 -  At its May meeting, the FWC proposed establishing a 1.74-square-mile area east of Elliott Key inside BNP that would seasonally prohibit hook-and-line fishing and possession of hook-and-line gear from November through May.

• FWC to host public workshops to gather input on proposed rules for Gulf lane snapper 

  Thursday, June 19, 2025 -  Staff will provide a brief presentation on potential proposed rules before gathering public comment at the workshop. 

• FWC to host in-person and virtual public workshops on commercial and recreational oyster harvest 

  Monday, June 2, 2025 -  Topics for discussion include changes to licensing requirements for fishery participants, harvest limits, seasons, tolerances for undersized attached and unattached oysters, and enforcement of undersized oysters in a certified oyster house.
