  Wednesday, December 4, 2024 -  The public can make reports about a fish kill, diseased fish or a fish with other abnormalities to the Fish Kill Hotline.

  Friday, November 22, 2024 -  An additional 17 days will be added to the season for Florida anglers to make up for lost opportunities due to recent hurricanes.

  Wednesday, November 20, 2024 -  An executive order provides a 50% discount on the annual and five-year Gold Sportsman licenses, as well as Youth Lifetime Sportsman licenses (for ages 0-17).

• Recreational harvest of hogfish closes in waters of the Atlantic/Florida Keys starting Nov. 1

  Wednesday, October 30, 2024 -  The recreational harvest season of Florida hogfish in state and federal waters of the Atlantic and the Florida Keys is open from May 1 through Oct. 31.

• Seasonal closure for spotted seatrout in the Central East Management region starting Nov. 1

  Tuesday, October 29, 2024 -  This closed season was re-established in 2020 for the Central East Region to address declining trends in the stock and benefit spotted seatrout during times when they are particularly vulnerable to harvest.

• Recreational harvest of greater amberjack closes in Gulf waters starting Nov. 1

  Monday, October 28, 2024 -  The FWC issued an executive order to set the 2024-25 recreational season for greater amberjack in state waters of the Gulf of Mexico consistent with the new recreational federal season, Sept. 1 through Oct. 31, approved by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council.
