• FWC East Lake Toho project showing signs of success

  Thursday, September 30, 2021 -  Bass, bluegill and redear sunfish are now using the recently restored areas for spawning. Native vegetation including pondweed, eelgrass, spikerush and water lily are growing naturally in areas of the restoration zone.

  Wednesday, April 28, 2021 -  Jim Fischer, owner of Hatchet Creek Tree Farm in Alachua County, was recently recognized by the FWC for his outstanding wildlife habitat management efforts, as part of the agency’s Wildlife Habitat Recognition Program.

• Happy Earth Day! FWC, partners, work to restore habitat at Lake George

  Wednesday, April 21, 2021 -  The team will plant more than 5,000 new freshwater eelgrass plants in the shallow areas in Lake George and Silver Glen Springs.
