  Monday, October 5, 2020 -  Stone crab regulations are the same in state and federal waters.

• FWC announces fall recreational red snapper season in Gulf

  Wednesday, September 30, 2020 -  Fall red snapper season for private recreational anglers and state for-hire operations in the Gulf of Mexico to open on the following Saturdays and Sundays: Oct. 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 and Nov. 1.

• Bay scallop season to close Sept. 25 in several areas

  Tuesday, September 15, 2020 -  Once these areas close, scallop harvest will not reopen until the 2021 season, the dates of which are noted below.

  Wednesday, September 2, 2020 -  The FWC encourages anglers to use the app whenever they are fishing to stay up to date on fishing regulations as well as help them identify their catch.

• Gray triggerfish reopens Sept. 1 in Gulf state and federal waters

  Friday, August 28, 2020 -  The recreational gray triggerfish season reopens to harvest in Gulf state and federal waters Sept. 1 and will remain open through Oct. 25, closing to harvest Oct. 26, 2020.

• Gag grouper fall season opens Sept. 1 in Gulf 4-county region

  Wednesday, August 19, 2020 -  The gag grouper recreational season in Gulf state waters off Franklin, Wakulla, Jefferson and Taylor counties will open for harvest Sept. 1 through Dec. 31.

• Suspects arrested in gill netting case involving the netting of juvenile bottlenose dolphin and multiple fish species

  Wednesday, August 5, 2020 -  FWC officers concluded an investigation in Pinellas County that resulted in the arrest of two suspects, Yunior C. Rosales Morales and Yandie Concepcion, for the unlawful use of a monofilament entanglement net to take several species of fish and a juvenile bottlenose dolphin.

• August blue crab trap closures for east coast of Florida canceled

  Monday, August 3, 2020 -  FWC has canceled the blue crab trap closures previously scheduled for Aug. 10-19 and 20-29, for all waters from Nassau through Palm Beach counties. Recreational and commercial blue crab traps may remain in the water during this period.

• Greater amberjack reopens to recreational harvest in Gulf waters Aug. 1

  Tuesday, July 28, 2020 -  This season is scheduled to remain open through Oct. 31 in Gulf state and federal waters.
