Mole Skinks

Mole skinks (Plestiodon egregius) are small, secretive lizards that can be found throughout much of Florida. There are currently five recognized subspecies in the state: northern (P. e. similis), Florida Keys (P. e. egregius), peninsula (P. e. onocrepis), Cedar Key (P. e. insularis), and bluetail (P. e. lividus).
