Diamondback Terrapins

Florida has five subspecies of the diamondback terrapin (Malaclemys terrapin), three of which occur only in Florida. The diamondback terrapin is a coastal turtle species found statewide in coastal marshes, tidal creeks, mangroves and other brackish and estuarine habitats.
