View wildlife year-round at the Florida Keys WEA. In the spring and fall, watch for migrating songbirds, raptors and shorebirds making their seasonal journeys between North America and the Caribbean and Central and South America.
Within the Florida Keys, there are 10 state parks that provide guided nature walks, glass-bottom boat tours, snorkeling, paddling, fishing and camping. Most of the National Key Deer Refuge lands are accessible to the public, as are many of the beaches of the Key West National Wildlife Refuge. Several of the islands in the Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge are accessible to the public with a special use permit.

- Restrooms are not available at Sammy Creek Landing or elsewhere in the WEA.
- Dogs are permitted but must be kept under physical restraint at all times.
- No Daily-Use Permit currently required.
- To fish, you must possess the appropriate license and permit.
- Camping and campfires are not permitted.
