License Requirements
Getting your licenses and permits
The first step in hunting turkeys is making sure you have the proper license and permits. Unless exempt, you must have a Florida hunting license and turkey permit to hunt turkeys in Florida. If you are hunting on a wildlife management area (WMA), you also need a management area permit. Licenses and permits can be purchased at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com, by calling 888-HUNT-FLORIDA (486-8356), tax collector offices and license agents, including most retail outlets that sell hunting and fishing supplies.
NOTE: Many WMAs require a quota permit to hunt during spring turkey season and November is the time to apply for those quota permits. Before heading afield, check the specific regulations for the area you plan to hunt.
