T.M. Goodwin - Planning Your Visit
Helpful Information
Opportunities for a variety of outdoor recreation on T.M. Goodwin Waterfowl Management Area are available throughout the year, although during hunting days, access to the area is open only to individuals participating in hunts. Waterfowl and snipe hunting occur on select dates in the fall and winter. At Goodwin Lake, anglers may enjoy bank fishing or fishing by boat. Wildlife viewing is good year-round but is especially rewarding in the cooler months when waterfowl and migratory bird populations peak. Summer is the best time to view species such as roseate spoonbill and swallow-tailed kite. During fall raptor migration, peregrine falcon, merlin, kestrel and red-shouldered and red-tailed hawk are all possible sightings.
