Chinsegut Wildlife and Environmental Area
Explore uplands and wetlands along trails and boardwalks or attend year-round educational programs and activities.
Gopher tortoises, fox squirrels and wading birds are just some of the wildlife variety found at this Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail site.
Prescribed fire, mechanical treatments and invasive vegetation control are used to restore and manage Chinsegut’s uplands and wetlands.
Chinsegut was once part of a large estate owned by Colonel Raymond Robins, a Brooksville icon.
Chinsegut is located in Hernando County, six miles north of Brooksville.
