Special-Opportunity Spring Turkey
A Special-Opportunity Spring Turkey permit is a type of limited entry permit that is required in order to participate in some spring turkey hunts on select Wildlife Management Areas. The following information provides further details on specific information regarding these permits.

Cost: $5.00 to apply, permit fees range from $50.00–$175.00 per permit.
Exemptions: There are no exemptions for obtaining this permit type. However, successful applicants who hold a Lifetime Hunting or Lifetime Gold Sportsman’s license issued prior to July 1, 1998 are exempt from the permit fees.
Group Applications: Group applications are not available for this permit type.
Preference Points: Preference points are not available for this permit type.
Transferability: Special-Opportunity Spring Turkey permits may be transferred from one hunter to another by simply giving the permit to another hunter. Residents may only transfer permits to residents, and non-residents may only transfer permits to non-residents.
How to Apply: Applicants can apply online at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com (sign on and choose “Apply for Limited Entry/Quota Permit”) or by completing an Application Worksheet and presenting it to any license agent or tax collector's office. Each applicant may make one choice per application and submit an unlimited number of applications.
Application and Permit Issuance: Applicants may make one choice per application and submit an unlimited number of applications. Applications are issued by random drawing in three rounds. Applicants successful in each round are eligible to purchase their permit by the claim deadline. Permits not claimed by successful applicants by the claim deadline are forfeited and made available in the next round to applicants in “waiting in line” status. No additional applicants are accepted after the Phase I application period. Non-residents are only eligible to be successful for 10% of the available permits for each hunt, or one permit per hunt if 10% of the permits is less than one.
Drawing Results: Drawing results are typically posted within three business days after the application period or round ends.
How to Get the Permit: Once claimed, successful applicants will have their permit(s) mailed to the address on file. Permits may also be claimed and printed at a license agent or tax collector's office.
Guest Permits: Guest permits are not available for this permit type.
Reprints: Permits can only be reprinted by the FWC Office of Licensing and Permitting, upon written request from the permit holder. Please allow at least 10 days to receive the replacement permit in the mail. Receipts, temporary license numbers, and printed copies of Internet pages may not be used as your permit.
Returned Permits: Returns are not available for this permit type.
Reporting Requirements: Hunters should check the WMA brochure for any check station requirements for their hunt. Public lands hunters may also receive a survey after the season concludes to assist the FWC in gathering valuable insight and data.
