Burrowing Owl Habitat Protection

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is accepting funding proposals for habitat protection projects benefiting the state-Threatened burrowing owl. Up to $875,000 in funding is available from the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida to fund land acquisitions and/or conservation easements benefitting the species.

The deadline for submitting proposals for Habitat Protection Projects is July 15th, 2022. Please submit the completed application with all required supporting documents outlined in the Call for Proposals to Imperiled@MyFWC.com with the subject line "Burrowing Owl Proposal."

Burrowing Owl Telemetry Work

Proposals for Florida burrowing owl telemetry work are currently being accepted as part of a larger project to determine the impact of displacement on urban burrowing owls. Up to $99,000 in funding is available from the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida to fund this work, which will contribute to priority information needs for burrowing owl conservation.

Telemetry Work Application Information

To be eligible for consideration, proposals need to meet the Minimum Level of Performance outlined in the project’s Scope of Work.

The deadline for submitting proposals for the telemetry project is July 26th, 2022. Please submit proposals and budget forms by email to Imperiled@MyFWC.com with the subject line “Burrowing Owl Telemetry.” Contact Nick.Jennings@MyFWC.com for any questions.
