Appearance
- Head and body color is pinkish-silver with several tiny blue spots
- Yellow coloration around eye and snout
- Only Florida porgy with a round rear nostril (not slit-like)
- Head rounded, not projecting
Similar Species: Other porgy species (have slit-like rear nostrils)
Size: Up to 36 inches
Habitat
Coastal waters over rocky or sandy bottoms.
Behavior
Feed on fishes and invertebrates.
