Exotic Pet Amnesty Days are events held periodically around the state to provide the opportunity for people to surrender their nonnative pets free of charge with no penalties. Exotic Pet Amnesty Days are free and everyone is welcome to attend. Informative and educational displays are available at most amnesty events and live animals are usually on exhibit. Kids and families can learn about nonnative species issues in Florida and learn how they can help. Nonnative pets can be surrendered at Exotic Pet Amnesty Day events from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Surrendered pets will be rehomed with pre-approved adopters after 2pm. Please note that domestic and native species are not accepted as part of this program.
