Florida's Aquatic Priority Resources

Lake Monroe

The document, A GIS Assessment of Florida's Aquatic Resources: A Framework For Restoration and Management (Appendices), was developed by the FWC’s Aquatic Habitat Conservation and Restoration Section and completed in December 2020. The priority resources guide assesses Florida’s publicly owned aquatic habitats and the fish and wildlife living there. Through a prioritization analysis, the guide identifies those resources likely to benefit from management, restoration and enhancement efforts. This provides accountability in making informed, science-based decisions while benefiting the fish and wildlife that depend on these resources as well as Florida’s citizens.

This interactive GIS storymap allows the user to locate priority freshwater habitat sites and see how they were evaluated.
