Offshore Research and Monitoring

Florida’s vibrant fisheries extend well beyond coastal boarders.  To evaluate fish populations in offshore environments, the Fisheries Independent Monitoring (FIM) program conducts annual sampling in the Gulf of Mexico and the South Atlantic waters off Florida’s coast using a wide variety of scientific equipment to collect information on fish population trends and habitats.  Check out the articles and videos below to learn more about FIM’s extensive offshore scientific research.
