Education: B.S. Biology, University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL

Research Interests: Vegetation community dynamics, biotic-abiotic interactions, plant conservation biology & genetics, wetland ecology.

Experience: Katherine began working with FWC in 2025 as a research assistant for the Freshwater Plants Research group. Before FWC, Katherine was a botanical technician focused on rare plant monitoring and habitat restoration on the Big Island of Hawai‘i, and she has previous experience working on wetland health assessments, habitat and land management, and sea turtle research.
