Research Interests
Freshwater ecology, plant community interactions, submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV), plant genetics, fish & wildlife habitat assessments, fire ecology, forestry and mycology.

Experience
Maggie started as a volunteer assisting with freshwater plant research from 2018-2019 and participated in the EPA's National Rivers and Streams Assessment in 2019. Maggie worked on Lake Apopka restoration efforts of submerged aquatic vegetation in collaboration with UF and St John's River WMD from 2018-2020, EPA’s National Lakes Assessment in 2022, and eelgrass genetics research from 2021 to present. Additionally, she serves as the field crew leader of the 2023-2024 National Rivers and Streams Assessment.
