Ochlockonee River Wildlife Management Area
Hunting
The cypress pond on the area attracts waterfowl, making this WMA a great spot for duck hunting. The area is also popular for deer and squirrel hunting.

Fishing
The Ochlockonee River is noted for its redbreast sunfish in periods of low water and catfish during high water events. The river is also popular for black crappie angling. Leon County maintains Tower Road Landing just north of the WMA.
Hiking/Biking/Horseback Riding
Service roads are available for horseback riding, biking, hiking and wildlife viewing.
Children under the age of 16 are required to wear a helmet when horseback riding on public lands. For more detailed information, see Nicole's Law. All horseback riders must have proof of current negative Coggins Test results for their horses when on state lands.
Wildlife
Maintaining habitat for wildlife is a key consideration whenever land management decisions are made on Ochlockonee River WMA. Visitors to the area may see wood storks, water snakes, woodpeckers and a variety of warblers among other wildlife.

Camping
Camping is prohibited.
Rules Regarding Dogs
For purposes other than hunting, dogs are allowed, but must be kept under physical restraint at all times. Dogs are prohibited in areas posted as "Closed to Public Access" by FWC administrative action. No person shall allow any dog to pursue or molest any wildlife during any period in which the taking of wildlife by the use of dogs is prohibited.
