Mallory Swamp Wildlife Management Area

Managed in cooperation with the Suwannee River Water Management District.

Mallory Swamp Wildlife Management Area includes more than 31,000 acres in southeastern Lafayette County, just southwest of Branford. This area features a diverse landscape of cypress swamps, titi thickets, peat bogs, and upland habitats—all of which are still recovering from a major wildfire that swept through in 2001. That fire, combined with ongoing efforts to restore natural water levels, has actually helped jumpstart the regeneration of native plant life. Today, the area remains open to the public year-round, offering a unique glimpse into Florida’s wild side as it heals and thrives.
