Lake George Wildlife Management Area

Lake George Wildlife Management Area is adjacent to Lake George in Putnam and Volusia counties. The area's more than 39,000 acres are primarily mixed hardwood swamp and pine flatwoods.
Hunting

Fishing
Fishing is permitted year-round. A Florida fishing license is required and can be purchased at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com.
Camping
Camping is allowed by permit from Volusia County, except during the general gun season.
Recreation
Explore a variety of outdoor activities including wildlife viewing, hiking, horseback riding, bicycling and paddling. The area also features a boat and canoe launch, along with a fishing pier.

Wildlife
Florida black bears, southern fox squirrels, gopher tortoises and bald eagles are among the listed species on the area. Additionally, bobcats, alligators, hawks, herons, otters, ospreys and white-tailed deer may be found here.
The Lake George WMA is part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail.
