FWC Law Enforcement duty officers are often seen as a lifeline for FWC Law Enforcement officers. Their instructions and information give officers direction about how to proceed with an incident or emergency and help protect the safety and lives of the public and the FWC Law Enforcement force.

FWC Law Enforcement duty officers monitor, receive, and relay FWC Law Enforcement departmental calls (wildlife/marine life) and emergency calls (search and rescue or hunting/boating accidents).  They must remain calm and composed while collecting and relaying as much information as possible and dispatching FWC Law Enforcement Units in the most efficient and productive manner possible.

Information not clearly relayed to the officers in a timely fashion could result in injury or death to the FWC Law Enforcement officers, the involved parties or innocent bystanders. Duty officers are an essential part of achieving the mission of FWC's Division of Law Enforcement.

The FWC has 60 duty officers, four duty officer supervisors and three regional communication managers.
