The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) initiated the George H.W. Bush Vamos A PescarTM (Let’s Go Fishing) Education Fund in 2014 with a donation from Bass Pro Shops Founder and CEO Johnny Morris. Vamos a PescarTM is a grant program to fund state and local initiatives that focus on engaging Hispanic families in fishing, boating and conservation activities.

Through this effort the FWC partners with local organizations that help Florida Hispanic youth and families learn about ethical angling, conservation, basic fishing gear, and fishing basics to help create confident and responsible anglers.

Vamos a Pescar Grant Information

Interested in the grant? Submit this quick form to receive the grant application and information. Complete the application and submit it to R3Fishing@MyFWC.com by the deadline to be considered for the grant.

Submitting a grant application does not guarantee you will receive the grant. Your application must first be selected by the FWC before being submitted to the RBFF for final approval and selection.

Program eligibility can be found in the FWC Grant Guidelines and the RBFF Grant Guidelines. Applications determined to be eligible will be reviewed by an FWC Evaluation Committee for merit and to ensure the proposed projects meet the needs of the Vamos A PescarTM Grant Program. The FWC Evaluation Committee will score all proposed projects using the provided Evaluation Criteria. The scores assigned by individual evaluators will be used to calculate the average score, which will serve as the final score for the application.

Completed applications will be ranked on a list in descending order according to total assigned points. Applicants with the highest-ranking application will be submitted to the RBFF for final approval and selection. The number of grants selected by the FWC is contingent upon available funding. Grant applications submitted by the FWC and approved by the RBFF will receive grant funding sent in two parts, one half from the RBFF and the other half from the FWC. Funding will be sent directly to the address specified in the application.
