Youth Hunting Program of Florida

The Youth Hunting Program of Florida is designed to introduce young people to hunting and conservation by providing safe, educational, mentored youth hunts.

Thanks to private landowners who graciously open up their property, youth accompanied by a parent or adult guardian can learn outdoor skills from a mentor during organized hunts.

The FWC and its partners provide hunts for deer, wild turkey, wild hogs, waterfowl, dove, small game and more.

Who can participate?

  • Youth between 12 and 17 years old who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to experience hunting.
  • Participants also must have passed a hunter safety course and be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

Volunteers make it happen

Only through the passion and generosity of its volunteers can the Youth Hunting Program of Florida provide safe, educational, mentored hunting experiences for youth. The program is based on volunteer landowners who are willing to host hunts on their properties and other volunteers who plan and facilitate hunts.
