Closure Dates: Year-Round

Focal Species: Brown pelicans, black skimmers, gull-billed terns, laughing gulls, American oystercatchers, willets, and piping plovers.

Lanark Reef is a 6-mile stretch of islands, seagrass and shallow sandbars. This site provides essential habitat for seabirds and shorebirds who use the islands for nesting, feeding, and resting during migration.

Financial support for Lanark Reef Critical Wildlife Area in-water markers was provided by the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida, Inc. through the Conserve Wildlife Tag grant program.
