This CWA is located in Pine Island Sound, within the Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve. It is an important location for nesting reddish egrets, a state-threatened species, along with a variety of other wading and diving birds.
This site is included in the Charlotte Harbor Colonial Waterbird Nest Monitoring Program.
