Focal Species: Least tern, black skimmer, Wilson’s plover, wintering shorebirds.
Locally known as Sand Dollar Island, this CWA hosts hundreds of nesting shorebirds during the breeding season, including state-threatened black skimmers. Nesting areas may be posted closed from March 1 to August 31.
Submerged mudflats are posted year-round for the protection of migratory and resident foraging birds.
