This CWA includes sandy beach areas along Amelia Island State Park. Portions of the beach within the CWA boundary are posted closed during the breeding season in areas where seabirds and shorebirds are nesting.
Amelia Island CWA is an important site for nesting least terns, a state-threatened species.
