Guidelines for Creating Paddling Trails

Florida has a variety of award winning paddling trails  and opportunities exist to create more on the state's abundant lakes, rivers, and meandering coastline. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Public Access Services Office has developed guidelines for planning and designing successful paddling trails. An important feature of any waterway trail is installing appropriate signage (or waterway markers) and obtaining the legally required permits from the Boating and Waterways Section.
