Long Term Anchoring Permit

As of January 1, 2026, Vessels anchored in Florida waters for 14 days or more within any 30-day period are now required to obtain a no-cost electronic long-term anchoring permit from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). Permit applicants are required to complete an online application, which includes vessel and applicant information. Vessel owners that violate this requirement to obtain a no cost Long Term Anchoring Permit are subject to being cited under s. 327.4111, F.S. for a non-criminal violation. Owners receiving 3 or more citations for violations of s. 327.4111, F.S. within a 24 month period may have their vessels removed and disposed of by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission under the Public Nuisance Vessel laws in s.327.73(1)(aa), F.S.

The permits are provided by FWC at no cost to the applicant, and may be applied for online using the link provided below.
