Appearance

Also known as big-eye jack.
- Front of head less steep than crevalle jack
- Darkly colored scutes (bone-like projections) on sides, just in front of tail
- Lack dark spots on pectoral fins
- Dark spot on gill cover is small or absent
- Caudal fin yellow in color
- Chest is fully scaled

Size: Up to 30 inches (8.5 pounds)

Often found in schools near offshore reefs
Behavior
Diet includes fishes, shrimp and other invertebrates
