Staging Striped Bass Eggs for Broodstock Collection: Video

Biologists collect and stage a striper female's eggs.

Each year, FWC biologists collect striped bass as broodstock for our state hatcheries. In this video our biologists collect and stage a striper female not quite ready for collection and return her safely to the Ochlockonee river, just below the Lake Talquin Dam. Their work helps ensure Florida's striped and hybrid bass populations continue to thrive.
