Get back to nature at Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshop in West Palm Beach

If your New Year’s resolution is to enjoy the health benefits from spending time outdoors, sign up now for the Feb. 7-9, 2020, Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshop near West Palm Beach.

The weekend workshop, hosted by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), is open to anyone 18 years of age or older interested in learning outdoor skills. The workshop features expert instructors and safe, hands-on opportunities to learn about fishing, archery, paddling, hunting, nature photography, outdoor survival, boating, birdwatching and more.

The workshop is held at the Everglades Youth Conservation Camp, located in the J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area in northwest Palm Beach County. Cabins offer comfortable dormitory-style lodging with modern restroom facilities. Home-cooked meals are served in the cafeteria. Sessions begin Friday afternoon and end Sunday with lunch.

The cost to participate in the weekend workshop is $200. Partial scholarships are available for participants who qualify. Workshops are limited to 100 participants, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
