Lox Duck Hunt Airboat Use Permit

General Information

An Arthur R. Marshall (A.R.M.) Loxahatchee NWR Duck and Coot Hunt Airboat Use Permit is a type of limited entry permit that is required for a hunter who intends to use an airboat to participate in some of the state duck and coot season on the A.R.M. Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. Note, there is no drawing for duck and coot hunters who wish to use an outboard motorboat or non-motorized boat.  A.R.M. Loxahatchee NWR Duck and Coot Airboat Hunt Permit Application Worksheet and Choices

Cost: $0.00 to apply, $100 per permit (purchased through the refuge, see additional information in Additional Requirements).

Requirements to Apply: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older in order to apply.

Exemptions: There are no exemptions for these permits.

Group Applications: Group applications are not available for this permit type.

Preference Points: There are no preference points for this permit type.

Transferability: These permits are not transferable.

How to Apply: Applicants can apply online at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com (sign on and choose “Apply for Limited Entry/Quota Permit”) or by completing an Application Worksheet and presenting it to any license agent or tax collector's office. Each applicant may make one choice on an application in Phase I, and one choice per application in Phase II Leftovers.

Application and Permit Issuance: Applicants may submit one application and receive up to one permit in Phase I. Permits are issued by random drawing during Phase I and issued on a first-come, first-served basis in Phase II Leftovers. Applicants may only be awarded one A.R.M Loxahatchee NWR Duck and Coot Hunt Airboat Airboat Use Permit per season.

Drawing Results: Drawing results are typically posted within three business days after the application period ends.

How to Get Your Permit: Successful applicants may print their permit online at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com or at a license agent or tax collector’s office. Successful applicants with a valid email address will have a copy of their permit emailed to them. Permits may also be downloaded and stored on the Fish|Hunt Florida mobile app.

Guests: Guest permits are not available for this permit type. 

Reprints: Customers can reprint their permit at no cost from their customer account at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com. Permits may also be reprinted at a license agent or tax collector’s office for a fee. 

Returned Permits: These permits cannot be returned. 

Additional Requirements:  In addition to the A.R.M Loxahatchee NWR Duck and Coot Hunt Airboat Use Permit, you must have an A.R.M Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge Entrance Pass, a signed Refuge Hunt Permit (signed Brochure), and a $100 A.R.M Loxahatchee Airboat Use Permit while hunting. Contact refuge staff to obtain the $100 Airboat Use Permit. Hunters must complete the online Airboat Operator Course, complete a Special Use Permit Application, and adhere to special conditions. Hunters must bring their airboat to the refuge and pass a vessel inspection before the airboat permit is issued. To obtain this permit please contact the A.R.M Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge.
