FWC offices, Babcock/Webb WMA close in Southwest Florida

Due to the impending arrival of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Fay, all Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) offices in the agency’s 12-county Southwest Region will close officially at 6 a.m. (EDT) on Aug. 19.  Offices closed include all those in the counties of Lee, Charlotte, Desoto, Hardee, Highlands, Sarasota, Manatee, Polk, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando.

Additionally, the Fred C. Babcock/Cecil M. Webb Wildlife Management Area in Charlotte County will close at 1 a.m. (EDT), Tuesday, Aug. 19. 

All closures of FWC facilities in the 12-county area will remain in effect until reopening is safe and practical.
