Waterfowl hunters:  STA 2 entrance change

October 8, 2008
Contact:  Wes Seitz, 561-625-5122

Waterfowl hunters will enter STA 2 through a different route than the one they used last season and this year’s early season.

For the 2008-09 regular waterfowl season, STA 2 can be accessed by  turning east off of U.S. 27, after crossing a single lane bridge located 10 miles north of the Palm Beach/Broward County line and approximately 14.5 miles south of the town of South Bay.

After crossing the bridge, hunters should proceed south 3 miles to a locked gate, where the check station operator will meet them before 4 a.m. The gate will be opened and hunters may proceed to the STA 2 check station.  The gate will remain open until the end of the morning hunt. No other access route will be available.
