(FWC) has closed roads to vehicular traffic on four wildlife
management areas (WMAs) in Orange and Osceola counties as

northeast section of the loop road) are closed to vehicular traffic through 7:59
a.m., Tuesday, Aug.26.
- Prairie Lakes WMA (Osceola) – All roads are closed to vehicular traffic
through 7:59
a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 26. Current permit holders for the alligator hunt on Lake
Jackson are allowed vehicle access to the roads to and from the lake for the
purpose of hunting alligators.
During road closures, the wildlife management
areas are open for foot traffic. The FWC area biologists will
reevaluate the roads by 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26 to determine
if they can be reopened or if the closure orders need to be
extended.
