Roads closed on FWC-managed areas in Indian River, Brevard and Osceola counties

Because of flooding and road damage associated with Tropical Storm Fay, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has closed roads on two recreation areas in Indian River, Brevard and Osceola counties as follows:

  • T.M. Goodwin Waterfowl Area (borders Indian River and Brevard counties) – All roads are closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until noon, Friday, Aug. 22.
  • Prairie Lakes Wildlife Management Area (Osceola County) – All roads closed to vehicular traffic until 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22.

FWC area biologists will reevaluate the roads on Friday, Aug. 22 to determine if they can be reopened or if the closure orders need to be extended.
