Five state forests, which are also Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) wildlife management areas in Clay, Nassau and Duval counties, have been closed to public access by the Division of Forestry because of Tropical Storm Fay.

Jennings Forest (Clay), Belmore (Clay), Four Creeks (Nassau) Ralph E. Simmons Memorial (Nassau) and Cary (Nassau and Duval) are closed to public access because of public safety and road issues.

According to FWC officials, Division of Forestry personnel will evaluate conditions Friday and discuss when to reopen the areas.
