Dixie Plantation plays key role for red-cockaded woodpeckers

FWC biologist Robin Boughton prepares a young red-cockaded woodpecker for translocation to another property. Using a net, biologists capture the birds from their cavities in live pines and move them to other areas to increase the likelihood of the species’ survival.
