FWC to hold lobster management workshops September 24, 2007 The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has scheduled a series of public workshops on the management of Florida’s spiny lobster fishery. The FWC wants feedback from the public on recommendations made by its ad hoc Spiny Lobster Advisory Board. This group has worked with the FWC on a comprehensive evaluation of its spiny lobster management strategy. All aspects of commercial and recreational lobster management will be discussed, including allocation of landings between fishing sectors, season length, license fees, the Special Two-Day Sport Season, and other related issues. The workshops will be held from 6-8 p.m. as follows:
Contact Lee Schlesinger at (850) 487-0554 for more information about the workshops. Anyone requiring special accommodations to participate in the workshops should advise the FWC at least five calendar days before the workshop by contacting Cindy Hoffman at (850) 488-6411. If you are hearing- or speech-impaired, contact the FWC using the Florida Relay Service at (800) 955-8771 (TTY) or (800) 955-8770 (voice). |
