Let your kids help you with this search for non-traditional gifts and you may pique their interest in animal conservation. Look into one of the adopt-an-animal programs sponsored by organizations such as the Save the Manatee Club, Caribbean Conservation Corporation (Adopt-a-Sea Turtle) or Audubon of Florida’s Adopt-a-Bird Program (injured birds of prey).

For a reasonable fee, gift recipients receive an adoption certificate, photograph, and other information on the adopted species. More importantly, your contribution aids animal research, education and conservation.
