All Ridge Rangers are invited to explore the Kissimmee River at Riverwoods Field Lab
Come join us!Learn about the largest river restoration in the world.Florida Atlantic University’s Center for Environmental Studies (FAU/CES) at Riverwoods Field Lab offers field-based aquatic ecology activities for students, educators, adults and environmental professionals using the Kissimmee River as an outdoor laboratory. The eco-tour workshops offer participants a first-hand view of the restoration project, illustrating the inter-disciplinary nature of environmental science and management. You learn about the watershed as you explore the biological habitats of the river, and learn about the river's hydrology and engineering structures. We involve participants in exciting field-based activities to help increase their understanding of the complexities of water resource management. In turn, personal exploration of water resources and natural systems increases ones’ awareness and, hopefully, responsibility towards the environment.
