Figure 1 Sampling stations along the west and east coasts of Florida. Sampling grids along each coast were divided into four zones, each containing 60 sampling cells. Fifteen cells were randomly selected per zone during each sampling season.

Figure 2 Estimated historical catch of calico scallops along the east coast of Florida by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration research vessels Silver Bay during 1960-1963 and Oregon during 1967-1968.

Figure 3 Florida's calico scallop landings, in pounds of meat, 1926-2007.

Figure 4 Samples were collected by dredging (A) for five minutes along the east and west coasts of Florida. Total catch was weighed (B) and sorted (C) into smallest possible identifiable taxon. Adult calico scallops (D) were weighed, counted, and a subsample preserved for laboratory analysis. Calico scallop shell (E) and other mollusk shell (F) were separated and weighed. Calico scallop spat (juvenile scallops), were counted and the substrate (G) they were attached to was recorded.

Figure 5 Total catch per minute of towing along the west coast and the east coast of Florida during 2004-2006.

Figure 6 Calico scallop (Argopecten gibbus) yield from 2004 through 2006 along the west coast and the east coast of Florida. Adult catch rate is expressed in terms of number of scallops expected m-1 min-1.

Figure 7 Calico scallop (Argopecten gibbus) shell and other mollusk shell yield during 2004-2006 along the west coast of Florida. Adult catch rate is expressed in terms of kilograms of shell expected m-1 min-1.

Figure 8 Calico scallop (Argopecten gibbus) shell and other mollusk shell yield during 2004-2006 along the east coast of Florida. Adult catch rate is expressed in terms of kilograms of shell expected m-1 min-1.

Figure 9 Composite image of predicted adult calico scallop (Argopecten gibbus) yield along the west coast and the east coast of Florida based on the combined data from all sampling seasons. Adult catch rate is expressed in terms of number of scallops expected m-1 min-1.
