Tidally stranded rescue

The rescue of a tidally stranded manatee provides researchers the opportunity to document this animal's scars through photographs and to collect morphometrics (measurements), blood samples, and other important data.

Horseshoe crabs do not bite or sting. Despite the ferocious look of the tail, it is not used as a weapon, but to right themselves if they are flipped over by a wave.
