Upland Habitat Information and Resources
This section includes information on the Upland Habitat program. It
also provides a plant list, complete with images, of many of
Florida's native plant species that are indicative of ecosystem
health. Plant list information includes ecosystem type, region,
interesting facts (such as edibility, history, medicinal uses,
etc), common name, scientific name, and plant family.
The Upland Habitat program consists of highly skilled research ecologists who evaluate the ecological structure of FWC lands and develop and execute complex land restoration projects.
The Upland Habitat Plant List, complete with images, includes
information such as each species' region, ecosystem type,
interesting facts (including edibility, history, medicinal uses,
etc), and plant family.
